📖 Key Scripture

Leviticus 25:8-10

"Count off seven sabbath years—seven times seven years—so that the seven sabbath years amount to a period of forty-nine years. Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants."

Monthly Devotional

The Year of Jubilee is one of Scripture's most breathtaking visions of a society ordered by God's redemptive love. Found in Leviticus 25, it was God's prescription for a world where poverty, slavery, and dispossession would never be permanent conditions. Every fifty years, the trumpet would sound, and everything would be reset — not because of human ingenuity, but because God said so.

As we begin this year-long journey, we follow in the footsteps of ancient Israel, who were commanded to count toward Jubilee. They couldn't skip the counting. They couldn't rush it. They had to be present for all forty-nine years of faithful obedience before the great release came. And in the counting, they were shaped into a people ready to receive what God had prepared.

This year, we are doing our own counting. We are preparing our hearts, studying God's Word, and aligning ourselves with Kingdom principles that Jubilee embodies. By December, we will stand at the threshold of proclamation — ready to declare with Isaiah, with Jesus, and with all of heaven: 'The year of the Lord's favor has come!'
